This year our state qualifying track athletes traveled to Jacksonville Florida for the state track meet. We had eleven athletes competing in events. Those athletes include Alyssa Clark, Bree Stankard, Leah Iorg, Grace Manor, Hayden Jackson, Keagan Dickerson, Jiavers Yacinthe, Jordan Taylor, Nathanial Lyons, Cameron Boudreaux, Charles Leach. All of these athletes competed in districts and regionals, working their hardest to make it all the way to state. They partook in running, jumping, and throwing events.

While at the meet the athletes faced multiple rain delays. On the first day the rain was so extreme the meet was postponed until Saturday morning. “The first rain delay caused us to go back to the hotel, so we decided to have some fun and play pool for a couple of hours, just for them to tell us that the meet was getting moved to Saturday,”  Cameron Boudreaux and Nathanial Lyons Said. On Saturday the athletes started their events but around twelve it started to thunder and lightning, so the meet got put on a second rain delay. In the end the athletes were able to push through all of the delays and still do good in their events. Many athletes say the delays did not affect their performance, but it was definitely a mood killer.

Overall, each athlete did amazing, but we also had some athletes go above and beyond to break school records. The 4x8 broke the record again by one second, (Alyssa Clark, Grace Manor, Bree Stankard, Leah Lorg), Hayden Jackson broke the javelin record again, and Keagan Dickerson broke the disc record again by 8 feet. The end to the 2025 track season proves Pace track has a bright future ahead of it.
