BETA Club

Mrs. Kyser (Rm. 25A)

Open to any 9th-12th grader who has a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in at least 1 Honors, Dual Enrollment, or Advanced Placement course. This club is a service organization, and all members are required to earn a set amount of service hours each semester. New members will pay $40 to cover both national and local dues; returning members will pay $15 to cover local dues. Projects vary, but some include school supply drives, animal shelter supply drives, and book drives. All meeting times and current information can be found outside Room 705.

NAHS National Art Honor Society

Mrs. Tracey (Rm. 231) & Natacha Duval (Rm. 509)

Must have 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a higher-level art course. Fee: $25, which includes a t-shirt. Meet once/month and work at 3 events each term. Current activities include teacher posters, art shows, clay and art nights. Art Student Adoption is available to help teachers with artistic needs.

National Honor Society (NHS)

Mrs. Ashley Wood (Rm. 209) & Mrs. Jennifer Cumbie

Must be a junior or senior, have 3.5 unweighted GPA and enrolled in at least 2 Honors or above classes. Application is required and fee is $30/year. Attend one meeting a month and participate in community service activities. Meetings are once a month.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

The National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. As the honor society for Career and Technical Education, NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country. This is a new club, and more info will be coming soon. Students must be a member of a CTE class to join.

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

Mrs. Ramirez (Rm. 153)

The purpose of the SHH "La Sagrada Familia" chapter is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and Portuguese by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies. Students will meet on Wednesday mornings twice a month. Seniors who are inducted in SHH will earn an Honors Cord. Associate members will earn a Red Stole if not enrolled in Spanish their Senior year. Students will need to earn a minimum of fifteen service hours each year to earn the Honors Cord or Stole

Tri-M Music Honor Society

Mr. Michanowicz (Rm. 121)

Must be sophomore or above; maintain 3.0 GPA; have 2 years of membership (can include current year) in either auditioned choral ensemble, Wind Ensemble, or Symphonic Band; and participate in music or performance outside of normally scheduled school ensembles. (Freshmen who were middle school Tri-M members may also apply.) This international honor society recognizes students for their academic and musical achievements and rewards them for their accomplishments and service activities. There is a one-time $35 registration fee upon application.
